I do not buy and sell swords personally, but I've been at this forever and know everyone.  I can help put you in contact with top experts in the field.  I've been working with many of these people for years and know and trust them.  They know that I expect my clients to be treated fairly and that the referrals will dry up quick if that is not the case.  So in acting as your go between and representative I can make sure that the information you get is accurate and you are treated fairly.  Frankly, the waters are full of sharks who are looking to take advantage of novice sword owners.  Having a knowledgeable third party in your corner, looking out for your interests is a valuable advantage that you will not find anywhere else.

Identification and Appraisal

I can get you accurate identification, translation of tang inscriptions, etc. for FREE!  Most basic identification as to type, age and maker can be made from good digital photos (both sides of the tang, the tip, and one of the entire blade).  Any inscription on the tang is most important.  Please do not send huge server clogging files.  I also generally do not need lots of photos of mountings to identify a blade.  Feel free to contact me for help identifying or appraising your swords.  davidhofhine@gmail.com
